Our community standard
5 and 20 exists to help serving personnel, veterans, emergency services workers, and their families check themselves and check their mates. The standard is simple: treat every member with the respect you would want for yourself. These guidelines apply to all features of the Platform, including group chat, buddy checks, workbook entries, and your profile.
Prohibited behaviour and content
You must not do any of the following on the Platform:
- Harassment: Repeatedly contacting, pressuring, or targeting another member in a way that causes distress.
- Threats: Threatening violence, harm, or any unlawful act against any person.
- Hate and discrimination: Posting content that attacks or demeans a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status.
- Abuse: Insulting, belittling, or verbally attacking another member.
- Sexual misconduct: Sexual harassment, unwanted advances, or sharing sexual content without consent.
- Illegal content: Sharing content that is illegal under UK law, including content that promotes terrorism, sexual exploitation of children, or extreme violence.
- Self-harm content: Encouraging or instructing others to self-harm or take their own life. If you are struggling, use the crisis resources in the app — do not post instructions for self-harm.
- Fraud: Using the Platform to deceive others for financial or personal gain.
- Spam: Sending unsolicited or repeated messages, advertising, or promotional content.
- Malware: Introducing viruses, spyware, or any malicious code.
- Impersonation: Pretending to be another person, another member, or misrepresenting your service status or qualifications.
- Privacy violations: Sharing another member's personal information, private conversations, or group content without their consent.
- Intellectual-property violations: Sharing copyrighted material you do not have the right to share, including book content.
- Unauthorised commercial solicitation: Using the Platform to sell products or services without permission.
- Sharing private conversations: Taking screenshots of, copying, or sharing group chat content outside the group without every member's consent.
- Account sharing: Allowing anyone else to use your account.
- Circumventing security: Attempting to bypass access controls, invite-code requirements, or any Platform security measure.
Reporting
If you see content or behaviour that breaks these guidelines, report it. You can report a message, report a member, or report a group. See our Online Safety and Reporting Policy for how to report and what happens next.
Moderation
We review all reports. Depending on the severity, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: A written warning to the member explaining the breach and what to change.
- Content removal: Removing the specific message or content that breached these guidelines.
- Temporary suspension: Suspending the member's access for a defined period.
- Permanent termination: Permanently removing the member's account.
- Immediate revocation: For serious or urgent risks, we may immediately suspend access without prior warning.
- Referral to authorities: Where we identify illegal content or a risk to life, we will refer the matter to the appropriate authority, including the police.
Challenging a decision
If your account is suspended or terminated and you believe the decision was wrong, you can appeal using the Contact page. We will review the appeal within 10 working days. If the decision is upheld, we will explain why.
